Kinetico Water Softener Reviews 2020

January 17, 2020 By Jake Leave a Comment

Since I had such hard water levels at home, I realized I needed the best water softener unit. As I did my research, I stumbled upon Kinetico, one of the most popular companies known for their water softener systems. I was glad I did!

Kinetico was founded back in 1970, the company who pioneered the development of water treatment systems. As the years passed and modern technology came to be, they continue to grow and become one of the experts worldwide. In fact, they serve over 100 countries and provide the complete water systems known to produce quality and water for cleaning and drinking.

Today, they offer three series of water softener systems:

  • Kinetico Signature Series
  • Kinetico Premier Series
  • Kinetico Essential Series

All of these offer the non-electric operation but with different performances suitable from the small to big households.

With that said, what makes Kinetico and their products different from the likes of Harvey’s or Water2Buy? Are their systems just as good, or will there be any good (or bad) differences to note of?

I did the tests and research myself, so read on! I’ll show you my Kinetico water softener reviews to help you find a suitable system for you.

The Best Kinetico Water Softener Reviews 2020

Based on my tests and research, these are the three water softeners Kinetico has to offer and my reviews on them:

  1. Kinetico Essential Water Softener

This is the more affordable version from Kinetico, as it comes with only the bare essentials, as its name. But don’t think that it doesn’t come without necessary and well-performing features! It’s a single-tank water softening system, compact enough to fit most plumbing systems

They’re also non-electric, as are all of Kinetico’s series. It even comes with customizable regeneration cycles to suit your needs in terms of how much water you and your household consumes.

I also appreciate the fact that it deals with all types of hard water without the hassle of complications. If you’re on a budget looking for a compact water softener and can deal with the single tank design, you’ll appreciate this one.

  1. Kinetico Premier Compact (2020C) Water Softener

The Kinetico 2020C is one of the most compact water softeners I’ve reviewed, which is also non-electric powered. It is also one of the best-selling units from Kinetico because of its ease of use and the affordable price (around £400 to £500).

Since it doesn’t require any electricity to power it up, it’s easy to install and at a good size to fit in most kitchens, small or big.

Installation is a breeze since it has a dual-most installation to suit either positioning. As for using and maintaining it, there is no issue since you just need to place salt and let it do its job. You can use either use table or block salt for it.

If you want both a smaller unit that does the job in small households, I recommend you get this Kinetico unit.

  1. Kinetico Premier Maxi

The Kinetico Premier Maxi is one of the top-quality water softeners available today, though coming at premium prices. However, you’re assured that it can deal with just about any hard water issue, providing necessary features for your water needs.

It has a dual-tank design to offer all the water you need regardless of the time of day. Furthermore, it is powered without electricity and uses water pressure, which lessens the maintenance and repair needs of it.

Besides this, you can opt for the XP feature, which offers even more customization settings according to what fits your homes water profile. In addition to this, it has a strong flow rate suitable for larger households.

So if you have the extra budget and live in a bigger home with a higher demand for water, this one’s for you.

The Kinetico Water Softener Price

While the Kinetico does have excellent quality and performance, it does come at an expensive cost.

There are three units to choose from, each having different prices depending on what you get. But expect to pay at least 500 for their basic set, or even over 5,000 for a high-quality unit that comes with all the things you need. This can even go for more if you get units that come with a reverse osmosis system!

You may have noticed that their units don’t come in an exact price range for everyone. That’s because your plumbing will have to go through evaluation from a Kinetico representative. You’ll get the final cost depending on the size of your home, the number of people living inside, and the features you need.

And though costly, you get great services and excellent warranty on top of a quality water softener system to last. If you are on a budget though, I would recommend that you get something cheaper but with similar quality, like the Water2Buy W2B800.

Harvey Water Softener vs Kinetico vs Water2Buy

You’ve probably heard of Harvey’s and Water2Buy, both reputable companies with similar features as Kinetico! However, what makes these three brands different and which one is made best for you? Here are some of their differences:

The Cost

Yes, water softeners come at different prices to compare. If you’re thinking about the cost, I rank it from cheapest to priciest:

  1. Water2Buy
  2. Harvey’s
  3. Kinetico

The Water2Buy is the most affordable one, coming between £300 to £350. Harvey’s has the middle ground at around £800 to £1,000. Kinetico takes the cake as priciest coming at over £3,000 for the premium unit.

So if you’re on a tight budget, then you’ll want to consider Water2Buy. If you can shell out a bit more for better quality, I also recommend Harvey’s.

Who is It Best For?

I believe that the Water2Buy W2B800 and W2B200 are made best for those on a budget and for smaller households. Take note that they have basic features so you do get what you pay for. However, it still has adequate features for families with external drains, not for apartments.

The Harvey’s Water Softener is made best for bigger families and if you’re still on a budget, though a bit more expensive. Those living in small areas or apartments without external drains will benefit from this, also having less hassle on installation.

The Kinetico offers the non-electric power with all the features required suitable for big households and any tip of home. However, it comes at a more expensive price with similar features as of Harvey’s!

That’s why I highly recommend that you go for something on a budget but still does the job well, like the Water2Buy W2B800 and/or the W2B200. It doesn’t have the bells and whistles, but enough features required for most households. And that’s the only thing I need when it comes to a water softener, as long as it works well for my home and provides the soft water we all need daily.

Through knowing these main differences, you have more of a basis on what brand you need and the specific systems to invest in. Learn more about the different best water softeners besides these three brands here!

Wrapping It Up

When you want to ensure that you get the right water softener, you also have to look into the reputable brand. With Kinetico, you get excellent service and high-quality water without the hassle of maintenance. It can compete well against the Harvey and Water2Buy water softener systems well, making it worth the investment.

Hopefully, my article on the Kinetico Water Softener reviews gave you an idea on what to invest in. So, whether it’s Harvey’s, Water2Buy, or Kinetico, find out the right water softener for you now!
